Trip
Well we got a car, an awesome one at that...Rob bought the neighbor's mom's 1990 Cadillac Deville, it is the coupe version and is totally cherry. Looks like new, no rust, bangs or dings. Black and shiny. He has gone off in it to Herkimer to dig stones for a few weeks, visiting Mike in Hagerstown on the way. Robbin and I are all alone here, I am stocked up with supplies and can have whatever I need delivered from Alice.com or from Schwans.com, plus there is a local taxi who can take me and my chair to town if I need something that can't be delivered. So we're good, for as long as Rob wants to be gone. It is nice and quiet. Being Florida of course there is the daily thunderstorms lol...I do love a good storm! Funny thing is cooking with just Robbin and I, I am cooking about 1/2 of what I do when Rob is here, so I am saving on groceries lol...bigtime!
Example...last night I made Schwans Mediterranean veggie mix with sauteed kielbasa and curly fries. I normally would have to use the entire package of both the fried and the veg, whereas last night I made 1/2 and there was plenty (and it was good...the kielbasa flavor was perfect with the veggies!) so I can actually make the same dinner another time instead of it all going into one meal. Nice. Oh I don't mind cooking huge meals, but it is nice to be able to make the groceries last a bit longer...
Robbin's schooling is going splendidly. Here in Fl. there is something called the FLVS (Florida Virtual School) and that is where he is learning. It is really wonderful, he IS homeschooled (so there is no bullying or gangs, and the local schools are well known for both), he will be getting socialization whenever Rob drags his carc@$$ back, they will be joining the local "Y", meantime in school he has classes that he can complete whenever he wants, there are teachers for every course, with special online "rooms" with tutors for every subject. His teachers are also always available via telephone or email. They seem very committed to his education, all I have to do really is monitor his work and help whenever I can, and if he comes up with something I can't answer he can go into the "room" and get instruction, there is always someone there, usually at least 2-3 tutors and 1-2 teachers. It is really quite impressive and very well thought-out. In other stated I was completely on my own, here there is more help then I could have ever dreamed!
